Buying
a house is an emotional experience; on one hand it’s totally exhilarating
and at the same time, it’s incredibly frightening. Building your
dream home starts long before a foundation is poured. For my wife and I,
the process started when we first created our dream home in our heads.
When we finally decided to build, our next step was to find a builder who cared
as much about creating our dream home as we did.
We
went with Lockie Homes, because president Todd Lockie’s view on quality matched
our own and we appreciated his approach of working hand in hand with his
clients. Todd walked Tarri and I completely through the process from
beginning to end. His hands on approach helped take some of the anxiety
and fear out of the process of building a new home. Todd was different
from other builders we talked to in that he always treated us like valued
customers. As issues came up (as they do with any project), Todd was
incredibly responsive and what really stood out for us, is that his decisions
were ultimately made on what was best for the customer. I believe this is
an extremely rare and differentiating attribute of Lockie Homes.
An added value to going with Lockie Homes we didn’t expect but were extremely
grateful for was the involvement of Mary Lockie in our interior design.
Mary’s talent for putting colors & patterns together for our interior design
played a large part in the final look of our home. The result was better
than anything my wife and I could have conceived on our own. She was great
at listening to our needs and then giving us suggestions about surfaces,
designs and then working these ideas into our budget. Having this
expertise available to us was a pleasant surprise and it turned out to be
critical component of building our home.
When you make the choice to build a home, it’s important you to choose a builder
who prioritizes quality, demonstrates craftsmanship and treats you like a valued
customer. Lockie Home’s excels at these attributes.

Todd, Dear Todd,
I wanted to write to you to thank you so much for building our house. Laura and I are so impressed with the quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail in the home. We are particularly amazed at the quality of the finishing work. We looked at homes for a long time before finding your home in Storm Lake Heights; we did not find any homes in the price range that came close to the quality of the home you built, particularly the interior finishing.
Probably of even greater importance has been your follow through. I have heard so many horror stories about people who build new homes and once the house is closed the builder will not deal with any latent problems that come up. We have had very few issues with our house but you have dealt with each one of them promptly and professionally.
Again, Laura and I want to thank you for building our home. We enjoy it tremendously and we would certainly recommend you to anyone who is looking for a custom home or high end custom-like home.

My wife and I just wanted to convey our gratitude for the extraordinary home that you and your team built for us. The craftsmanship inside and out is absolutely overwhelming. The attention to detail and signature features of the home are too numerous to list and can only be described as “must see”. A few of the fantastic features that immediately come to mind are: - Under-cabinet-lighting in the kitchen - Crown molding illuminated by hidden rope-lighting in the formal dining room - How you wired the ventilation fans to come on during the night to better circulate air - Brazilian cherry wood floors and cabinetry. - Extended height and size of some of the rooms and the garage to increase the homes square footage, usability, and appeal - Oversize garage doors with powerful automatic remote openers - Wired for central vacuum and security system - Wired for generator - 3 Zone heating - Matching stainless steel appliances: microwave, double-ovens, 5-burner cooktop stove with overhead ventilation - Beautiful stone fireplace and mantle - Propane appliances: Fireplace, cooktop stove, water heater, and furnace. - Air conditioning - High tech Ethernet and Telephone cabling to every room - Wrap-around porch - Milguard Windows - One year warranty I know we are failing to list so many more items that were included in the home because they are so numerous. If ever you would like for us to show our home to people that would like to see your finished craftsmanship with their own eyes, we would be glad to do this for you and them. Dear Todd,
My wife and I bought our current home from Lockie Homes. It is our 8th home, 3 of which we’ve built or self-contracted. We have definite ideas of what we desire in a home. This Lockie home is better than any we’ve had. There's a view and the home is oriented to take advantage of the view, unusual in a “spec” house. The design is such that we have been comfortable in it right from “move-in-day.” Initially, the curb appeal
was excellent, and subsequently the interior finish and appointments were even better. After living here for over a year, we continue to be completely satisfied with the home, and even more pleased with the professional relationship that has developed with Mr. Lockie, the builder.
